Connecting cooks: an intergenerational cooking program

This grant will help connect children with senior members of the community to establish long-lasting valuable inter-generational friendships through a series of cooking events.

Careship Coorong promotes care farming - the therapeutic use of a working farm for people with social care needs.

They currently operate a pilot care farm which provides social care to people living with dementia on a snail farm. They run a program that gives people with care needs the chance to participate in farming activities, and an intergenerational cooking program in which primary school children interact with senior community members.
