A Foot in the Door: Employment Training for Asylum Seekers

This grant will be used to support asylum seekers to complete a Responsible Service of Food certificate and pathway into work placements and other training opportunities.

Carringbush aims to reach and empower Richmond and Collingwood's most high-need adult learners, with a focus on refugee-background residents, typically residing in housing estates.

They provide language, literacy and numeracy classes, as well as specialist educational programs in areas such as employment mentoring, assistance with settlement and cultural issues for people who may have barriers to participation in training and employment.
