Food growing project educating remote community on nutrition
The grant will help implement self-sustaining fresh food gardens and nutritional education to improve local health outcomes for the local Indigenous community.
The Lilla Foundation was set up to support the health, education and social economic development of the local people. Funding will help provide food gardens across communities in this socially isolated and disadvantaged area of Australia. Gardens will grow nutritious traditional foods and introduce varieties that will improve the diet of the current population, as well as providing nutritional education for ongoing health benefits.
