Promoting disaster preparedness in remote Queensland Indigenous communities
The grant will fund practical information for Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities to best prepare for natural disasters such as cyclones, storms and floods.
Queensland Remote Aboriginal Media (QRAM) works with remote Queensland communities to develop communications materials for remote Indigenous communities to prepare for natural disasters such as cyclones, storms, and floods. The Stayin' Safe project will use local community voices (including messages in local community languages) to encourage preparedness for natural disasters, as well as tips on what to do during and following natural disasters.
