Combatting suicide with community support and knowledge
This grant will fund a suicide prevention project that aims to equip locals with knowledge and support to recognise signs and indicators, knowing when to intervene.
Rural Alive and Well was formed to assist individuals, families and the wider community in rural and remote areas of Tasmania deal with challenging life experiences. Particular emphasis is placed on suicide prevention, mental health and wellbeing. They work with clients to develop positive pathways to increase resilience. Staff travel up to 10,000km per week visiting clients in many of Tasmania's most isolated areas.
