Boosting self esteem and promoting a healthier lifestyle
This grant will help Stewart House purchase additional computers so children can keep in touch with family and friends during their stay, and also for staff to ensure management of information regarding the children's stay are recorded electronically.
Each year 1,800 public school children in need come to Stewart House from many parts of NSW and ACT at no cost to their parents/carers. During their stay, children are provided with optometric, dental and medical treatment as well as emotional support. This is balanced with health and educational programs and out of school activities to boost their self-esteem and to promote a healthier lifestyle.
